By further developing existing communities such as undergraduate departments, graduate schools, majors, classes, seminars, clubs, etc., as well as academic societies, specialized fields, languages, regions, and alumni associations to a greater extent, and by supporting the formation of new innovative communities in addition to existing communities that are different from the existing rallying points, the University bring together the diverse energies of stakeholders to form a new Waseda family.
Beyond the boundaries of the university, to serve as a center for community revitalization, while promoting the revitalization of existing communities of neighborhood residents and national alumni, creating programs that will serve as a catalyst for the formation of new communities, strengthening organizations, and taking measures to acquire financial resources to realize projects, to develop facilities that serve as a foundation for the activities of these communities. Waseda University aims to become an entity that is constantly supported by a wide range of people.
Under “Vision 150,” we aim to form various new communities of people affiliated with Waseda University. Through these communities centered on our university, we will share all of the wisdom, passion, and spirit that we have nurtured at our university with as many people as possible and participate in the creation of new knowledge and culture and the enhancement of society. This means that we must prepare for new developments in civilization during this era by reforming our university and the nature of our academic endeavors.
