In December 2023, “the Act Partially Amending the Cannabis Control Act and the Narcotics and Psychotropics Control Act” has been enacted, and part of it has been enforced on December 12, 2024. According to this, the “use” of cannabis (including gummies and liquids that contain ingredients exceeding the regulated value) has also been prohibited by law, and penalties (imprisonment for up to 7 years) have been imposed.
In recent years, drug abuse among students has been spreading. Not only are you punished by law if you “purchase”, “possess”, “transfer” or “use” illegal drugs, but Waseda University will also impose severe punishments such as Disciplinary Withdrawal. If you get involved with them casually, you could end up ruining your life. Please be aware of the seriousness of the problem and never touch or go near illegal drugs.
