How to Use Certificate Issuance Service 【for Current Students】

• Certificate of Expected Graduation is only available for the 2nd year  master students basically and who completed the course registration for the required graduation (completion) credits if it is his/her final semester. The issuing date starts from noon on June 1(June 3 in 2025 AY) in spring semester and November 10 in fall semester. Please note the following periods are exceptional and you can not issue the certificate (about 10 days each for Feb, May, August and October) . Please ask IPS office for more details.
• The issuing date of Health Certificate also starts from noon on June 1(June 3 in 2025 AY) in spring semester and November 10 in fall semester.
• We can not check the delivery status over the phone if you made a request online. Please use the ‘Contact form’, which can be accessed from the email sent to you after your online application

How to Use Certificate Issuance Service 【for Alumni】

*For those who have changed their family name, a family register showing the family name change or a pension book showing the maiden name is required.

*The certificate is issued under the student’s name at the time of enrollment (before the revision).

Issuing Fee

Graduate students: 400JPY / copy

Please apply for and obtain various certificates from the Certificate Issuance Service (online application) mentioned above. However, the “Health Certificate” and “Student Discount Coupon” will be issued at the office counter because the Kitakyushu Campus is not equipped with an automatic certificate issuing machine.

If you wish to have “Health Certificate” or “Student Discount Coupon” issued at the office counter and someone other than yourself is picking it up, please refer to “Application by proxy” below.

≪Application by proxy≫

For the protection of personal information, Waseda University issues certificates only upon application by the applicant himself/herself. However, if for some unavoidable reason the applicant is unable to apply in person, the university will accept an application by a proxy. If a person other than the principal is applying on behalf of the principal, please have the following two items ready.

(1) Letter of Attorney (Download)

The name (handwritten) and seal or signature (handwritten) of the mandator and proxy are required.
Be sure to attach a photocopy of the personal identification document of the proxy.

(2) Application Form for Health Certificate (Download)/Application Form for JR Student Discount Coupon (Download)

When submitting items (1) and (2) above directly to the IPS office or when a proxy receives them, the proxy’s own verification documents (student ID card, etc.) will be required.
