アメリカの作家ジョン・グリーンのベストセラー小説『さよならを待つふたりのために』が原作のこの映画は自身の病気により、死を身近に感じながら日々を生きる一組のカップルの姿を美しく描いています。世界各国で公開され、自身の病気や障がいと向き合い一瞬一瞬を大切に生きる彼らの姿は、人々に生きる意味、人を愛する意味を思い出させ、国籍を問わず多くの人の涙を誘いました。
この度ICCでは、この映画の主人公のように特別な境遇に置かれた人々の多様な生き方、価値観の受容に焦点を当てた映画上映会を開催します。本編上映後には、スナックやドリンクを楽しみながら参加者同士が映画についてカジュアルに語り合うカフェ交流会もご用意しました。

This film paints a picture of the beauty found by a couple living each day on the verge of death from their illness.
This time at the ICC, we have decided to hold a screening of this film focusing on accepting various ways of living and values of people in these special
circumstances.
After the screening, there will be a mixing time with snacks and drinks where you can chat casually with other participants about the film and its
themes.

ストーリー
主人公のヘイゼルは末期がん。母親から勧められてイヤイヤ参加することになったがん患者の集会で、骨のがんである骨肉種で片足を失った青年、オーガスタスと出会います。将来、彼を傷つけるのではないかとかたくなに距離を置くヘイゼル。そんな彼女を振り向かせるべく、オーガスタスは、自分の願い事を一つだけかなえてくれるプロジェクトを利用して、とっておきのサプライズを用意しますが・・
<<Synopsis>>
Hazel, the main character of this story, has terminal cancer. Eventually persuaded by her mother to attend a cancer patient support group, there she meets Augustus who has had one of his legs amputated to treat his own bone cancer. Afraid of wounding him with her inevitable death, Hazel tries to keep her distance. However Augustus stubbornly resolves to make her turn around and see him by using his own “make a wish” to give her a great surprise…
