Waseda University will change the certificate issuance fee and the method of issuing and receiving certificates starting May 1, 2023. If you apply for issuing a certificate on or after May 1, 2023, you will be required to pay the revised certificate fee.
1) Certificate issuance fees will be revised as follows:
- In addition to the certificate issuance fee, a printing fee (60 yen per copy) is required if the certificate is issued at a convenience store, and a postage fee is required if the certificate is sent by mail.
2) Prior online request (online application) will be required.
Before a certificate can be issued, you must make an online request in advance by completing an online application via PC or smart phone.
You will need a Waseda Mail address and password for the online application procedure.
- If you are currently a student and have forgotten your Waseda Mail address or password, please see here. For alumni, see here.
- For alumni who would like to acquire a Waseda Mail address, please see here.
- For alumni who would like to complete the prior online application procedure using an email address other than a Waseda Mail address, you must first complete an initial registration procedure (for first time users of the service). Please note that for initial registration you will be required to submit identity verification documents, and it may take some for your application to be processed and verified.
3) The method of payment of fees will change.
Fees can be paid electronically with various credit cards or electronic money at the time of online registration, or you can choose to pay in cash at a convenience store.
4) You will also be able to pick up your certificate at convenience stores.
In addition to the certificate issuing machines on campus, you will be able to choose to pick up your certificate at convenience stores throughout Japan (FamilyMart, Seven-Eleven, and Lawson).
