Study Space

W Space study rooms in Buildings 3 and 7, and the WASEDA Kyosokan for fostering entrepreneurs

Waseda University provides abundant study spaces to assist students. Of particular note are the W Space study rooms in Buildings 3 and 7 on the Waseda Campus, and the WASEDA Kyosokan (Co-creation hall) in Building 19-2 devised with the concept of fostering global entrepreneurs. In addition, the university has various facilities to assist students with independent study and activities. Please make full use of these facilities.

Writing Center (Building 3, 2nd floor)

One-on-one guidance for preparing academic papers

Tutors with specialized knowledge in academic writing provide students with guidance in preparing study reports and theses in 45-minute sessions. Guidance can be provided on Japanese or English texts, and on papers that the student has already begun writing or that are still at the concept development stage.

In addition to the Waseda Campus, Writing Center branches are located on the Nishiwaseda and Tokorozawa Campuses.

Math and Stat Center(Building 3, 2nd floor)

Master mathematics and data science with one-on-one guidance

Learning Assistants (LAs) are available to during normal working hours to provide easy-to-understand guidance — including one-on-one assistance for content related to the online “Introduction to University Mathematics”, “Introduction to Data Science”, and “Statistics Literacy” series, as well as a wide range of other mathematics, statistics, and data science topics. For the “Introduction to University Mathematics” series, one-on-one guidance is also provided on the Tokorozawa Campus.

W Space(2nd Floor, Building 3)

Study rooms that can be used freely

W Space group study rooms are study spaces that were born from students’ ideas. The space is partitioned into seven large and small booths, enabling students to select the optimum environment for their objectives. Computers, projectors, whiteboards, and other equipment are available at any time, enabling students to carry out group work and practice presentations. Please take advantage of these facilities!

Individual study booths are also provided

In addition to spaces for group study, W Space also includes booths for individual study, with spaces requiring reservations as well as spaces that can be used without reservations. There are also booths with tatami-mat flooring to facilitate group work in a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. For information about spaces requiring reservations and available timeslots, please refer to the URL below, then go to the Waseda Portal Office (be sure to take your Student ID card with you).

WASEDA Kyosokan(Building 19-2)

Aim to become a global entrepreneur!

As an innovation training base, the WASEDA Kyosokan provides educational programs aimed at cultivating global entrepreneurs with the ability to “co-generate” and implement ideas for new services and products for a global society that cross boundaries between specialized fields. On days when there are no events being held at the facility, students can use an enormous whiteboard covering the entire wall, arrange chairs and desks as they please, and have the experience of “co-generating” ideas with fellow students.

To check whether the facility is available for use, go to WASEDA Kyosokan to inquire directly (be sure to take your Student ID card with you).
