Listed below are the types of certificates that can be issued by the Center for Japanese Language (CJL).
Different certificates are issued for different programs. Please check your program before requesting a certificate.

♦ Waseda summer Japanese Program (Academic Year 1999–2009),
♦ Institute of Language Teaching
Intensive Japanese Language Course, or Advanced Specialized Course in Japanese (Academic Year 1962–2003),
* 2 Transcript of Academic Record/GPA can be issued only for students who enrolled in Academic Year 2010 or later. It cannot be viewed or issued for students who enrolled in Academic Year 2009 or earlier.

You or your proxy must bring the following to the CJL office:
To protect privacy, Waseda University only issues certificates when requested personally. If there is a compelling reason why a request must be made by proxy, the criteria below must be met.
The proxy must bring the following items with them to the office:
* If you create your own power of attorney form, include the following information and provide it to the agent:
(1) Your (principal) information: student number (if you are a Waseda University student), name (hand-written), and seal impression or signature (hand-written)
(2) Details of authorization, reasons for authorization, and the name of proxy
(3) Proxy information: student number (if he/she is a Waseda University student), name (hand-written), seal impression or signature (hand-written), relation to the principal, street address, and phone number

Please send the following documents to the CJL.
* If you are using your “My Number” card as an ID, send in the copy of only the front side. Do not send the copy of the backside with the number.

You may select regular mail or express mail.
Mailing cost varies with the number of certificates, requirement for proper envelope sealing and type of return mail (regular or express). See the fee page.

Please send the following documents to the CJL.
* If you are using your “My Number” card as an ID, send in the copy of only the front side. Do not send the copy of the backside with the number.
IRC (International Reply Coupon)
Available at post offices. Valued at 130 yen each in Japan.
※If you cannot get IRCs, you can pay by overseas remittance. Please see some information below.
【Overseas Remittance】
Please send the following documents to the CJL by email.
※Please note that the sending bank and receiving bank will charge handling fee. The handling fee might be charged about JPY 5000. When you make a payment, please make sure to tell a bank teller that you need to pay the handling fee for both sending and receiving bank.
※After receiving your application by email, we will let you know the amount of money and instruction for overseas remittance.
※We accept only the payment methods described above. In principle, we do not accept payment by credit cards. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.
For return mail, you may select Express Mail Service (EMS) or regular airmail, but we highly recommend EMS to prevent any troubles.
