We are pleased to announce the Summer Session run by Venice International University (VIU), a consortium of which Waseda University is a member.
This Summer Session, open for the first time this year, allows students to study subjects of their choice from the six topics in different areas.
The local classes in Venice will be held during the summer vacation period from August 1 to 26, but students are required to take online classes prior to their travel there (some may be after their travel depending on the course), so please consider your study plan in Japan when selecting your courses of the Summer Session.
For more details, please read the following link carefully and apply for each course on your own from the “Registration” at the right bottom of the link.
*Those who have not participated in VIU’s “Globalization Program” in the past need to register on the “pre-registration” (the link is above “Registration”)
https://www.univiu.org/study/globalization-program/summer-sessions
By completing the course registration for this program in advance, credits can be transferred as credits for a course offered by the Waseda University Center for International Education (CIE).
For details, please check the e-mail sent by the CIE after you have been selected to participate in the program.
Summer Session courses are open to students regularly enrolled in any Bachelor or Master’s degree programs at one of VIU’s Member Universities. Students pay no fees to VIU, but must sustain the cost of travel and accommodation associated with participating in the program.
【Note】
*In case of a large number of applicants, VIU may have a screening process.
*If you are selected to participate, VIU will share your name, e-mail address, and other personal information with Waseda University.
*Participants must submit separate “Program Participation Pledge” and “Report regarding Infection Prevention Measures”, etc., to Waseda University in order for Waseda University to approve their participation in the program. Please be prepared to respond to the contact from the CIE, as you will be contacted separately by CIE after your participation has been decided.
*Please note that depending on the spread of the new coronavirus at the time of your departure, we may recommend you do not travel.
*To study abroad by traveling, you must take out the overseas travel insurance designated by Waseda University that covers the day of departure through returning to Japan. We will send more details at a later date, so please follow the instruction and proceed with the procedures.
*All the required procedures (obtaining a passport/visa if necessary, accreditation procedures at the affiliated school, payment of the study abroad expenses, enrolling in the overseas travel insurance, etc.) to study abroad must be confirmed and completed on your own responsibility.
*Unlike the normal times, handling of visas to stay in the study abroad destination (Italy) or visas to enter Japan may become complicated, or restrictions when entering/leaving a country may also become stricter. Please check the latest information (regarding required documents, application fees, application period, etc.) on the websites of local embassy and related institutions.
