概要
木綿衣の一種で、アイヌの衣服の中で最も手がこみ華やかなものである。紺、黒などの濃色無地木綿や細かい模様の着物地の上に、様々な色の布を細かく切り、それらを組み合わせて自在に曲げたり、延ばしたりして文様を作り出す。切伏の文様布は、木綿、絹、毛織物があるが、本州から入る貴重な古裂をつぎはぎしたものもあり、多彩で華やかな点が特色である。
This is a type of cotton garment that is the most intricate and handsome among Ainu clothing. Various strips of colored cloth are combined, bent or extended and sewn on to dark-blue, black and other dark, solid-colored or fine-patterned kimono fabric to create intricate patterns. Although the fabric used for the patchwork includes cotton, silk and wool, there are some that use precious used clothing and remnants that arrived from the main island of Honshu. These garments are characterized as being colorful and gorgeous.
