[Event report] Waseda Campus Tour for International Students – September 2026

At the Hirayama Ikuo Volunteer Center, Waseda University (WAVOC), Student Staff Leaders (SSLs) plan and organize a variety of volunteer activities.
On September 30, 2026, we organized the “Waseda Campus Tour for International Students.”
With the generous support of the Waseda University Campus Tour Guides, participants explored the Waseda campus, connected with fellow students, and got a glimpse of volunteer activities at Waseda.
Welcome to Waseda University!
This year’s WAVOC Campus Tour had two parts: a campus walk and a volunteer introduction at the GCC Common Room.
On the tour, we stepped inside Okuma Auditorium, which most of us never get to see, and learned the stories behind buildings we walk past every day. Along the way, we also shared handy tips for student life, and it was great to see students from different faculties and programs chatting and making new friends.

After the tour, we moved to the GCC Common Room, where participants sat back and relaxed while we introduced WAVOC and the wide variety of volunteer opportunities at Waseda, as a first step toward getting involved.
They heard about activities unique to Japan, such as snow shoveling and volunteering at the Waseda Ekiden (relay race), as well as community-based projects. Many students took notes and photos during the session, which showed us just how curious and motivated they were.
