【開催レポート】WAVOCボランティア・カフェ①「はじめてのボランティア」

2025年10月22日（水）、WAVOCボランティア・カフェ①「はじめてのボランティア」を開催しました。本レポートでは WAVOC 学生スタッフリーダーの松田とライが、当日の様子をお伝えします。
WAVOCボランティア・カフェ
「WAVOCボランティア・カフェ」とは、学生の皆さんにボランティアや WAVOCについて知ってもらう機会をお届けし、学生サークルを含めた早大生をつなぐ交流イベントです。毎年 4 月に開催している春の新歓イベント「ボラカフェ」を、「WAVOC ボランティア・カフェ」（通称 ボラカフェ）として形を変え、年間を通じて開催していきます。
今回のキーワードは「はじめてのボランティア」
第1回となる今回のキーワードは「はじめてのボランティア」。入門ボランティアの紹介やWAVOCの活用方法、先輩の体験談、早大生だからこそできるボランティア活動、今後のボランティア情報などをお届けしました。
初回となる今回は、9名の方にご参加いただきました！
まずは、参加者同士で自己紹介からスタート。その後、学生スタッフリーダーから説明を行い、質問タイムを設けました。
参加者の皆さんはこんな理由でボラカフェに足を運んでくださいました。
・ボランティアを始めてみたい
・就活が終わった4年生から始められるボランティアはないか？
・長期的に関わるボランティアをやりたい
・コミュニケーションに不安があるが、ボランティアをやってみたい
・空きコマが暇だった
終わりに
参加学生は、ボランティア経験がある人もない人も様々。
ボラカフェは、ボランティアに挑戦したい人も、ボランティアに意欲的な人も、一歩踏み出したい皆さんが「ボランティア」を通して交流できる場所です。留学生の皆さんのご参加も大歓迎です。

[Event report] WAVOC Volunteer Café① “Your First Volunteer Experience”
On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Hirayama Ikuo Volunteer Center, Waseda University (WAVOC), held the first Volunteer Café with the topic ” Your First Volunteer Experience.” Here’s the report of how the event went.
WAVOC Volunteer Café is a networking event that provides students with an opportunity to learn about volunteering and WAVOC, also connects with Waseda students including student circles. The Volunteer Café used to be held every April as a Spring welcome event for new Waseda students, but it is now held throughout the year.
With the topic “Your First Volunteer Experience”, on the day we covered information including introduction of entry level volunteering activities, how to utilize WAVOC, testimonies from seniors, as well as information on upcoming volunteering opportunities for Waseda students.
Nine students participated in this event, with participants and WAVOC Student Staff Leaders began with self-introductions to know more about each other. In the end there was also Q & A Session for those who wants to know more.
Below are some of the reasons why participants came to Volunteer Café,
・I want to start volunteering.
・I want to know if there are any volunteer activities for fourth-year student after job hunting.
・I want to do volunteer work that involves a long-term commitment.
・I’m worried about communication skills, but I want to volunteer.
・I’m free during the event time.
Participating students range from those without volunteer experience to those experienced.
Volunteer Café is a place for students with all different motivations – but it is the perfect place for those who want to take the first step into volunteering and connect with people of similar interests. International students are also welcome to participate.
