In addition to English, the GEC offers many course for more than 20 languages. This includes languages for which there are few other learning opportunities, such as the Ainu language. This selection is on par with that offered in a specialized foreign language university. Many of these language courses start with introductory level classes, making it possible for students to learn step-by-step. The GEC offers not only a diversity of languages to choose from but also a wide range of lecture courses on the history and culture of various language zones.
