“The Encouragement of Graduate Schools”

Ms. Tomoko Hashida
This 9th Rikoh Tea Time Symposium was held on July 28, 2023, with Akari Takayama, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, serving as moderator. There were two sessions. Session 1 comprised speeches by our invited lecturers, Tomoko Hashida, Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Emi Nisato of the UCB Japan Co., Ltd. Session 2 was a panel discussion.
The Symposium was attended by 56 persons, including undergraduates, graduate students, related faculty and staff, and students from the nearby Tokyo Metropolitan Toyama High School.
During the discussion, the panelists answered the questions of the Symposium attendees.

Ms. Emi Nisato
Joining the two guest lecturers as panelists were two Waseda University graduate students: Haruka Hosoki (first year Master’s Program) and Haruki Takei (second year Doctoral Program), and a Waseda technical staffer, Takafumi Jigami. The attendees posed a broad range of questions, and the panelists actively engaged in an exchange of ideas and opinions, based on their respective positions and experiences.
The explanations of the panelists provided the attendees a concrete image of the “Graduate School.” The Symposium provided a good opportunity for the attendees to reflect on their future education and career plans.
