※Even if someone other than the applicant makes the payment, the applicant’s information must be entered.

How to Register Application

2. Enter your information for each item, or select appropriate items.

• If you would like to apply for JLP as an exchange student, please visit CIE（Center for International Education） website for further information.
• If you would like to apply for JLP as a MEXT (Japanese Government) Scholarship student, please visit MEXT website or the Japanese Embassy in your country for further information.

This admission is only for undergraduate and graduate students (Non-degree) of  Waseda University who wish to be enrolled in Japanese language courses.

*Exchange students and MEXT Scholarship students do not need to apply.
*Be sure to check with your undergraduate/graduate school in advance to see if you need to apply.

Japanese Language Courses Application Guidelines for Academic Year 2025

Applicants for this program MUST apply through online. Please follow the instruction below and complete the Online Application during the registration period. You can access the Online Application page during the application period only.

*Those who will continue your enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate school at Waseda University from AY2024 to AY2025 and wish to continue to take Japanese language courses, need to reapply for admission in AY2025.

Screening Fee Payment for non-degree students in Undergraduate or Graduate Shools at Waseda University

Access one of the following pages and complete the payment within the designated period.

• Exemption from the Screening Fee
  If you have been exempted from the payment of the Screening Fee for the undergraduate or graduate school you plan to enroll in, you are also exempted from the payment of the Sceening Fee for the Center for Japanese Language.
  Please submit the “Application Form for Screening Fee Waiver（検定料免除措置申請書）”* instead of the “Certificate of Payment of Screening Fee（選考料支払証明書）”. For details, please refer to (3) Exemption of Screening Fee on Page 7 of the Admission Guidelines.
  *Be sure to obtain a “seal of approval” from the undergraduate or graduate school to which you will belong.
