The Student Reporters program was set up to allow students enrolled in the Japanese Language Program to give their opinions about lessons and activities at Waseda University and life in Japan as an overseas student, based on their own experiences. The program is considered a university volunteer activity.
Reporters write articles based on their own experiences and research. Emphasis should be placed on making them useful for overseas students who are thinking about coming to Japan, and on conveying unique information that could only be gleaned by studying at Waseda University right now. Articles written by reporters (accompanying photographs) are posted on the Center for Japanese Language’s Instagram and Facebook. Meetings to discuss and adjust the content of articles are held every month or so (during the semester.)
Open recruitments are held each semester for students enrolled in the Japanese Language Program. Reporters are selected based on the applications.
