Tuition Payment Schedule

Changing Your Tuition Payment Bank Account

If you wish to change the bank account used for tuition payment, or if your account information (such as the bank name or branch name) has changed due to a bank merger or other financial institution reorganization, please complete the necessary procedures through the following website of the Waseda University Finance Department.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

Please note that, depending on the timing of your request and whether any deficiencies are found in your application, the changes may not be reflected in the next scheduled automatic bank withdrawal. Be sure to review the information on the above website carefully before submitting your request.

If you also wish to change the person responsible for paying the tuition, please complete the required information on the designated form and submit it to the Faculty of Social Sciences Administrative Office either in person or by email.

Delay in Payment of Tuition Fees

If tuition and fees are not paid by the end of the semester, the student will be subject to dismissal from the University due to non-payment of tuition in accordance with the University regulations.

However, you may request an extension of the tuition payment deadline by submitting an “Application for Deferred Payment of Tuition and Fees” to your affiliated school or graduate school office in advance. If approved, you will be allowed to defer payment until the designated deadline.

Scholarships for International Students

Starting from the 2025 academic year, Faculty of Social Sciences has begun registrations for the Scholarship Registration Form for International Students.
If you wish to apply for the scholarship, please review the following information thoroughly and make sure to complete your registration on the form.

*Doctoral students who only intend to apply for ”Scholarship for Fostering Researchers in Doctoral Programs” are not required to register for the above form.

Scholarships for Students Holding Japanese Nationality

(Including students of nationality other than Japan who presently reside in Japan and whose visa eligibility is that of a “Permanent Resident” or “Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident”.)

Waseda University offers various forms of internal and external financial aid, including scholarships sponsored by Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO), and other privately financed scholarships. Scholarship for Fostering Researchers in Doctoral Programs

The Scholarship for Fostering Researchers in Doctoral Programs was established in the 2009 academic year to support promising young researchers. It is available to doctoral students (from first to third year) who are within the standard duration of their program and meet all eligibility requirements, with the exception of those who are exempt from paying tuition fees (e.g., government-sponsored international students or Waseda University research associates).
