Screening Schedule and Overview of English-taught Degree Program (September 2021 AO Admission)

The Graduate School of Social Sciences conducts “AO admission” screening method for those who seek to earn degree (MA, D.Phil.) by receiving supervision in English and taking the English-taught courses. The AO admission does not require applicants to have the Japanese language proficiency and admits students through the document screening and interview. For more detail, please download the application guidelines below.

*The admission period of the AO admission is September only.

Application forms, Graduation/Degree certificates, Academic transcripts, Research plan, Reason for application, Copy of Master’s thesis, Copy of the abstract of Master’s thesis, TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS (copy of the score card of either), Letter of recommendation, Statement of financial resources, etc.
Screening schedule Application period February 10 (Wed.) – March 2 (Tue.), 2021
Screening fee payment period February 3 (Wed.) – March 2 (Tue.), 2021
Announcement of documents review results April 13 (Tue.), 2021
Interview exam period
One of the dates from either May 8 (Sat.) or May 9(Sun.), 2021
Announcement of successful applicants May 21 (Fri.), 2021
