Research Topics
At the Ikenaga Laboratory, we focus on cutting-edge research in computer vision and image processing, aiming to provide safe, comfortable, and accessible information anytime and anywhere.
One of our core research areas is high-speed and ultra-low-latency vision systems. By designing parallel algorithms and implementing them on FPGA platforms, we achieve over 1000 frames per second with less than 1 millisecond delay. These technologies support real-time industrial applications such as defect detection, alignment, and quality control, contributing to the advancement of Industry 4.0. In addition, our lab actively studies human/object pose estimation and 3D environment analysis, including 3D reconstruction and point cloud processing. These techniques are fundamental to signal analysis and indoor scene understanding. We are also working on data manipulation strategies to efficiently process and augment visual data, enabling more robust and scalable vision systems.

Research Environment
Our lab is home to 23 students from diverse backgrounds. We hold regular meetings and collaborative seminars where students engage in discussions with Prof. Ikenaga and peers. We also collaborate with top universities such as Nanjing University and Tsinghua University, and maintain strong ties with industry professionals.

Student Life
Life in our lab is both productive and enjoyable. We host seasonal activities like cherry blossom viewing, and often gather for lab dinners, building a close-knit and friendly community. Recently, Prof. Ikenaga visited Nanjing to deepen academic collaboration and international exchange.
With expert guidance, an open research environment, and active international connections, Ikenaga Laboratory offers the perfect setting for exciting research and a vibrant lab life. Join us to grow as a researcher and create a better future together!
