概要
帯鉤は先端が鉤型に湾曲した帯留金具である。中国を中心とした東アジアで広く用いられていた。もともとは中国の北方の遊牧民が乗馬の際に着る衣服のベルトを留める金具として使用されていた。人物俑に装着された衣服の観察から、革帯にあけた孔に裏面の突起を差し込み固定し、体を一周させ鉤尾部をフックのようにして掛けていたと推定される。本資料は青銅製の鋳造であり、虎に似た獣形を呈する。ほかに体部が膨らんだ琵琶形や匙形のものが多く、なかには鍍金や象嵌などで装飾される例もある。
Band clasps are a sash tie clasp with a hooked end. They were in wide use in China and other parts of East Asia. The band clasps were originally used as belt buckles by nomadic tribes in northern China when they rode horses. Observation of the clothing of the lifelike images showed that the protrusion on the underside of the clasp was inserted into a hole in a leather band to fix it in place. The band was then wrapped around the body and the hooked end was used like a hook. This piece is made of bronze with a beast similar to a tiger. There are also many clasps with a fat body that is shaped like a Japanese lute, or a spoon. Some are gold plated or decorated with inlay.
