- The 10th term for the Student Advisors for Waseda Culture(SAWC)
We are divided into four teams: “Walk Rally,” “Goods and Collaboration,” “PR,” and “Management”. We asked each group about their aspirations for their activities.
Walk Rally Team
- Waseda University History Museum
- Waseda photo museum in 2022
Hello! This is the Walk Rally Team!
Did you all know that Waseda University has many museums? These museums are located on the university campus and their wonderful contents can be appreciated for free, but many students graduate without even knowing that they exist. Our job is to create and execute plans to make as many people as possible aware of the five museums at Waseda University and share the beauty of Waseda’s culture!
Last year, we held the “Search for Waseda Bear! Museum” word puzzle and the “Waseda Photo Museum” activity, both of which were enjoyed by many people.
This year, in addition to such projects, we would like to create new projects that will make visiting the museum more enjoyable.
Please look forward to celebrating Waseda’s culture with the Walk Rally Team and the student advisors!
Goods and Collaboration Team
- Wasemeshi-stamp rally
- original WASEDA T-shirts
Hello! We are the Goods and Collaboration Team!
We are in charge of two activities: creating goods to give away at events and collaborating with the local people to liven up the Waseda community!
Last year, we created new cutlery sets, bag hangers, and Waseda T-shirts which were used at events during Museum Week and Culture and Arts Week. In terms of collaborations, we developed collaborative menus in shopping areas around the university and held the “Wasemeshi Stamp Rally” in the spring and fall! Our last “Wasemeshi Stamp Rally” had 70 restaurants cooperating with us, the largest number of partner restaurants in our history!
Our goals for this year are to create attractive goods to encourage all of you to participate in our events and to hold collaborative events that will enliven the town of Waseda!
PR Team
Hello everyone!
We are the 10th generation PR Team for the Student Advisors for Waseda University’s cultural promotion. The PR Team promotes Waseda’s culture through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and our official website. So far, we have introduced “Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum” which specializes in theater, “Waseda Sports Museum” where you can experience sports culture, “Honjo-Waseda no Mori Museum” which exhibits archaeological materials and ethnic artifacts, and the “Waseda University History Museum” and “Aizu Yaichi Memorial Museum” on the main Waseda campus.
In addition to such cultural institutions, the active student body, deep history, local involvement, and global community are all examples of the “Waseda culture” that we love! Our annual highlights are Museum Week (in May) and Waseda Culture and Arts Week (in October). These two events bring Waseda’s culture to life!Stay tuned to our activities for updates and posts on Waseda University’s unique culture!
Please follow us on social networking sites so that we can keep you informed of our “Waseda Culture” activities. Thank you!
Management Team
- Museum Week in May
- Waseda Culture & Arts Week in October
Hello, I am Rika Nishihara, the leader of the Management Team.
Currently, there are three members in the Management Team. The purpose of the team is to create a place where each and every advisor can realize what they want to do and work on their activities with peace of mind.
Last year, the group worked on two main tasks. Firstly, we gathered members’ opinions and took attendance at meetings. Secondly, we coordinated the advisors who participated in cultural events and exhibitions.
We also provide follow-up support for the activities and members of each division, always checking that the activities of each division are running smoothly. We act as a sort of consultation service that provides support when the other advisors are in trouble.
This year, we will continue such activities and provide opportunities to deepen comradeship among the advisors. By holding regular recreational activities and dinner parties, we aim to create vertical and horizontal connections among the members!
We, the 10th advisors, will do our best to bring the charm of Waseda’s culture to you, so please stay in touch and join our events!
