March 22nd (Fri)
WISH Entrance Ceremony

This year’s WISH Entrance Ceremony was held at Waseda Campus, Building 10 on March 22nd. The ceremony included multiple presentations, such as syllabus of SI program, one of the important aspects of this dormitory and SI Award trips. Only those who achieved outstanding results in SI program can attend these Award trips and this spring, students were sent to Niigata and Malaysia. The Niigata trip offered students a chance to learn about the life in countryside, while I attended the overseas trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia collaborated with Panasonic.

During this trip, we were split into groups to examine Panasonic’s brand image in Malaysia and based on this investigation, come up with proposal which could actually be implemented. We worked hard every day until late at night but it all paid off when we completed our presentation and felt accomplished. By hearing our experiences, I hope new residents got motivated to participate in the future SI program actively and be the next participant of the SI Award Trips.

This time we had a special guest speaker at the ceremony. Waseda alumni, Mr. Takeshi OKADA, the former World Cup Coach for the Japanese National Soccer team shares a few words of wisdom. Throughout his talk, he encouraged us all to “act by intuition“ and that got to my heart. I will keep his words as I live by and I am so grateful that I got to be a part of this event.

Residence Life Center is a department that plans management policies for student dormitories, and provides services for students regarding dormitories.
