November 11th (Sun)
The first WISH Festival

On November 11th(Sun), WISH Festival was held at 1st floor of Waseda University Nakano International Community Plaza with the theme of interaction with community, contribution to society and spread WISH culture. On this day, 530 people came to WISH Festival in total and had ended on a high note. For those who came, thank you very much and we would like to introduce about WISH Festival a little more in here.

At the “World’s kitchen” corner, we sold 3 kinds of dishes made by dormitory students. We had baked buns from China, yangnyeom chicken from Korea and bubble tea from Taiwan for visitors to enjoy.
At the “Bazaar” corner, we sold good luck charms made by dormitory students, as well as used books and general goods that were provided by WISH residents. All profits from WISH festival are donated to the Médecins Sans Frontières Japan Association.

Students from WISH have also held unique talks such as speeches about experiences studying abroad, Rakugo talk and music festival. We believe that people were satisfied with singing by Waseda University Glee club, instrumental performance by many residents and Rakugo which is rare to listen to in daily life etc…

We appreciate that Kirin beverage Company, Limited supported WISH Festival as our sponsor, by providing their drink products, “Kirin Gogonokocha” to visitors. We also held a seminar with the title of “The road to the tea master presented by Kirin Gogonokocha” and talked about Kirin beverage Company’s CSV activities in Sri Lanka. We also introduced about the best way to make a cup of tea and quizzed about the best matches of Gogonokocha and dishes all over the world.

This was the first time to hold WISH Festival, so we started planning in June. We were able to finish this event without a hitch, thanks to all the people who supported us. Thus, we would like to say many thanks to Kirin beverage Company, Limited, schools and organizations around WISH and all of you who came to WISH Festival.

If we could hold 2nd WISH Festival next year, we promise that WISH residents will strive to make this event even better. We hope to see you again, so if you have a chance, please come join us.
