For this month, we had a Tanabata festival, a simulating ENNICHI at shrine or temples inspired event with food stalls, karaoke competition, and an okonomiyaki group competition! Instead of the organizers running the food stalls, and judging the karaoke competition, we had the dorm residents involved!

On June 10th, we had our first meeting and met the student supporters for the first time. Prior to meeting, we had everyone come up with ideas they wanted to have for the event and although the meeting was just one hour, we were able to get through most of the planning.

who’s face?

On the day, we had resident volunteers who registered to help prepare for the event and we thought it was going to go smoothly. Not many people showed. This was due to late announcement which this made us a bit nervous, but about 30 minutes later, the room started to fill up!

The highlights of the event were the okonomiyaki decorated with a lollipop, okonomiyaki toppings to make portraits of our very own RA, and then the participants’ karaoke. This whole event reminded me of a time in high school. We were glad that everyone enjoyed the event!
