Being Japanese but having lived overseas for most of my life in England, Australian and recently completing my exchange in France, I have faced many challenges in adapting to the intricate cultures and traditions weaved into the everyday life of those countries. During these moments of hardship, I was always greatly supported by my seniors. I chose to become a RA because I wanted to help those students who are experiencing the same difficulties, and give back all that I have received.
WISH is truly becoming an international family which residents can call their home. I gain happiness from seeing the residents enjoying themselves at events we planned. We share and laugh together during moments of joy. If problems arise we work our hardest to find a solution.
Today I see myself as a cultural bridge between nations, sharing not only Japanese culture to international students but also sharing my experiences overseas to Japanese students.
