Important Updates on information stated in the latest brochure “Waseda University Student Dormitories 2023”

Dear applicants who wish to move in to a dormitory in March, 2023

The Resident Life Center informs you about important updates on some information stated in the latest brochure “Waseda University Student Dormitories 2023” (issued in August, 2022) as follows.

1.Revision of dormitory fee for the residents of Waseda University Student Dormitories (Waseda International Student House [WISH] and Higashi-Fushimi Student Dormitory)

Due to the increase in prices mainly led by high energy price, the dormitory fee will be revised from March 2023 as follows. This revised dormitory fee is applied from March 2023 (which means the dormitory fee for March 2023) onward. Besides, the dormitories other than Waseda University Student Dormitories may increase in prices such as electricity or meals. For details, please ask the respective companies/organizations that operates their dormitories directly if necessary.

  • Waseda International Student House [WISH]: 55,000 yen/month (including utilities. Increased by 2,000 yen compared with that of the previous academic year)
  • Higashi-Fushimi Student House [Single room]: 28,000 yen/month (including utilities. Increased by 2,000 yen compared with that of the previous academic year)
  • The RLC has temporarily stopped providing twin rooms in Higashi-Fushimi Student House due to some reasons such as one of the precautions against COVID-19. Instead of that, we provide the twin rooms for single use (used by one person). The twin rooms are 30% larger than the single rooms in Higashi-Fushimi Student House.Higashi-Fushimi Student House [Twin room for single use]: 33,000 yen/month (including utilities. Increased by 2,000 yen compared with that of the previous academic year)

2. photo submission for dorm application no longer required

Applicants do not need to submit their own photo when applying for Waseda University Student Dormitories. However, please note that the RLC will request all of the successful applicants to submit their ID photo as a part of entrance documents.
