[Important] Agreement on Single Use of Twin Rooms

  • In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection, we have decided not to assign rooms based on the two persons living together (No twin use). Therefore, all successful applicants listed above will be assigned to single use. (The dormitory fee for single occupancy is 20,000 yen.)
  • As a result of this decision, a single room (12.51 m2) will be in short supply, so a large room (16.16 m2) originally intended for two persons will be allowed to be used by one person at the same dormitory fee as the single room (12.51 m2). During the term of the contract, the dormitory fee will not be raised or changed to a room for two persons.
  • A few students will be assigned to a 16.16 m2 room by drawing lots. Although the room area will be larger, the dormitory fee will be the same as the 12.51 m2 room. Please note, however, that the room interior and furnishings will remain unchanged. (The beds and desks will remain the same for 2 persons and will not be removed or renovated). Please refer to the “Regarding movies that introduce the dormitory” section below for the interior and the room.
  • If you have a serious problem with being assigned to a 16.16 m2 room (i.e., you have a serious problem with a room that is originally sized for two people being used by one person for the same price as a 12.51 m2 dormitory room), please report it using the following form by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11. Every possible effort will be made to avoid assigning a 16.16 m2 room in the room assignment. https://www.waseda.jp/inst/rlc/contact/
  • The number of successful applicants has been determined based on the assumption that there will be no problems in living in the dormitory under the above conditions for most prospective residents. We ask for your understanding of the above operation so that as many students as possible can use the dormitory rooms.

「Notice for prospective residents who are currently living abroad and may have immigration restriction in Japan」(Those who DO NOT HAVE a Japanese nationality)

・ For those who have signed the dormitory contract, regardless of whether or not you actually moved into the dormitory, in general, the dormitory fee will be incurred from the designated move-in date.
・ In the packet which is planned to be sent to you from tomorrow, there is a online questionnaire regarding move-in date. For those who are entering Japan from overseas and cannot move-in on the designated dates due to immigration restrictions in Japan, please indicate so on the questionnaire. We are planning to consider the dormitory fee for those who answer to another questionnaire which will be sent later on (only to applicable persons) within its deadline.
・ If you are anxious about group life in the dormitory in consideration of the current situation of coronavirus infection, please do not submit the dormitory contract that will be sent to your registered address later, but report your desire of withdrawal through below inquiry form.
