About the Dormitory Desk

Our Services

Waseda University Dormitory Desk, Student Affairs Section (Former Residence Life Center) manages and operates two directly managed dormitories owned by Waseda University (WISH: Waseda International Student House and Higashi-Fushimi Student Dormitory). In addition, we form affiliations with organizations and conduct health and safety inspections regularly of exclusive/affiliated dormitories managed by affiliated organizations.

In the directly managed/exclusive dormitories, student volunteer staff called Resident Assistants (RAs) provide everyday support to dormitory students. The university considers RAs as one of the student engagement activities, and supports RAs in contributing to the dormitory community and their own growth through regular meetings, training, etc.

To apply for dormitories, we set two application periods a year for new students in accordance with the university entrance examination schedule and allow them to apply through an unified online application form for all dormitories (directly managed/exclusive/affiliated). New students may apply during the application period after the acceptance to the university. For exchange students, we introduce on our website the exchange student dormitories as well as other accommodations near campus suitable for short-term exchange students.

Please note that the responsibility for the operation and lease contracts of the exclusive/affiliated dormitories, rest with the organizations that own/manage the dormitories. Therefore, the Dormitory Desk does not act as an intermediary for student tenancy agreements, make changes to agreements, or otherwise act on behalf of students.
