The application and payment should be completed by July 25, 2025.
What you need to know before applying for certificates
1.When is your certificate sent out via bulk shipment?
The certificates will be sent from the Center for Japanese Language (CJL) at the end of September 2025 via bulk shipment. It will be delivered in October 2025 or later. It is not possible to specify the timing of bulk shipment. This is free of charge, and available only once and to a single location specified by you.
2. What should I do if I need a certificate before October?
Please submit a regular online application at the Waseda Portal Office (WPO) website. A download link for the digital certificate (PDF data of the certificate) can be sent directly to your employer, educational or research institution, etc.
Please be sure to check “When online application will be available” below to find out when online application will be available. However, certificates that are not available for online application must be applied for and paid for at our office by July 25, 2025.

①Transcript of Academic Record
②GPA certificate
③Certificate of completion (only for students who have fulfilled the requirements for completion*)
④Certificate of length of enrollment ⑤Certificate of Attendance
*Completion requirements
→Half-year program: 13 credits or more earned
→1-year program: 26 credits or more earned
4. Available certificate formats
Certificates can only be issued in hard copies. We will use airmail for certificate requests from overseas. You may, however, send a download link for the digital certificate (PDF data of the certificate) directly to your employer, educational or research institution, etc.
5. How to specify the address to receive your certificates
Please register the address to receive the certificates through the “Shipping Address Registration Form for Diploma/Transcripts.” The form will be sent to your Waseda email address in the middle of July, 2025. Please check your Waseda email and complete it by the due date.
