Types and Validity of Language Proficiency Test Results for Entrance Examinations

Regarding the types of language proficiency test results and their validity period for entrance examinations starting from the 2026 admission (for the entrance exam held in July 2025), please note the following:

1. Accepted Language Proficiency Tests
Test results from at-home or remotely proctored exams (such as TOEFL iBT Home Edition, TOEFL iBT Paper Edition, IELTS Online) and combined test results from different exam sessions (such as TOEFL “MyBest Scores” or IELTS “One Skill Retake”) will not be accepted. Additionally, results from TOEIC IP, TOEIC S&W, TOEIC Bridge, TOEFL ITP, TOEFL PBT, and IELTS General Training will not be accepted.

2. Validity Period
Only test results from exams taken within two years before the application start date will be considered valid.
(Please refer to the specific entrance exam guidelines for the exact test date.)

3. Applicable Entrance Examinations
This applies to all entrance exams for the Graduate School of Information Production and Systems, Waseda University, starting from July 2025 (for the 2026 entry).
For the accepted language proficiency tests, please refer to the respective admission guides.
(Note: No validity period will be set for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).)
If the test organizations change the validity period of their test results, the validity period outlined above may be adjusted accordingly.
