Yoshimasu Lab

Welcome to Yoshimasu Lab!

Name: KUSUNOKI Kotaro
Grade & Course: 1st Year, Master’s course

Smartphones and wireless communication devices are essential to modern life, and high-frequency analog circuits play a critical role behind the scenes. At Yoshimasu Lab, we focus on designing and developing these high-frequency circuits for wireless communication.

In our day-to-day research, we use specialized circuit simulators, such as GoldenGate and ADS, on our computers to design circuits for wireless communication. Our research particularly centers on circuits like low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, oscillators, and mixers. For those who are new to high-frequency circuits, our lab provides a supportive environment where students can build the necessary knowledge and skills through Professor Yoshimasu’s lectures and the helpful advice of senior lab members.

Once a design is completed, we collaborate with companies to create chip prototypes based on our circuit layouts. The performance of the finished chips is then measured not only in our lab but also at partner companies. The sense of accomplishment when a circuit we designed takes shape as a chip and meets expected performance levels is indescribable. In addition, there are many opportunities to present the results of our research at international conferences and in specialized journals, providing us with the chance to share our work with the world.

In seminars, we enhance our presentation skills, discuss the latest research, and exchange fresh ideas

Currently, Yoshimasu Lab has ten master’s students. The lab has a warm atmosphere where students support each other in both academic and daily life. In between busy days of research, we also make time for relaxation, like group trips to hot springs.

We invite you to join our friendly lab to explore new possibilities in wireless technology with us!
