Contribution to people-oriented mobile system LSI
SASAKI Shunsuke, 2nd grade, Master programme
Recently, with the popularization of mobile phones, PDA and so on, mobile systems have gained the world attention and gotten a significant progress. The research target of Baba Laboratory is to achieve a “people-oriented mobile system LSI”, which is not only for social and environmental perspective but also for family-based people including the elderly, the disabled people, homemakers, and so on. The research content in Baba Lab covers three main parts: first part is to improve particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms and apply them to LSI, which can be used for optimizing the control systems; second part is the wireless sensor network (WSN) LSI design; third part is the development of biological information sensing system. We hope that our research can further promote the development of mobile systems.
Currently (Apr. 2015), there are 1 assistant researcher and 11 master students at this lab. 9 of them are international students who come from China and Taiwan. Therefore, you are free to chat and discuss in Japanese, English, and Chinese in our lab. Furthermore, you can experience different cultures, and make friends by doing the research with our members corporately. Besides research, the laboratory also provides a lively mix of social activities such as parties and watching soccer games. It is happy and effective to study being surrounded with such harmonious and interactive lab atmosphere.
In addition, Prof. Baba, our supervisor, not only offers encouraging advice about research, he also gives thoughtful attention to each and every laboratory member. So we think this lab should be a suitable place for your self-growing not only in the research field but also in your mind. If you are curious about the Baba Laboratory, feel free to visit us there. We are always waiting for new members. Come and pursue your research with us. We will welcome you with open arms!!
