Starting in April 2026, the student parking lot will change to a gate-controlled system and only registered vehicles will be allowed into the parking lot (the gate will not open).  As a result, parking permits will no longer be required and the application procedures have also been changed, so please check the updated information.
Please note that there will be no changes to the staff parking lot operation.

[Until the end of March]

In order to park on campus, staff and students will need to apply for and display the parking permit. For more details, please contact IPS Office.

[From April onward]

The student parking lot will switch to a gate-controlled system, and only registered vehicles will be allowed to enter.  
Please make sure to submit your application (including any changes) by 4:00 PM, at least 2 business days before your desired start date.  

Note: You cannot enter the parking lot on the day you submit the application.

Usage Fees

  • From April 2023, Research Associate will cover student parking spaces.
  • Some changes have been made to student fees from April 2020.
Cost
Students (April admission) including Research Associate JPY3,000 (From April to March)
Students (September admission) including Research Associate * JPY1,500 * (From October to March) or (From April to September)
Faculty, Staff and Researcher excluding Research Associate JPY3,000 (From April to March)
  • You can also join mid-month. In that case, the usage fee will not be calculated on a pro- rated basis.
  • Handling Fee will be charged separately.
  • * JPY1,500yen/6months (From April to September or From October to March) * Only students who graduate in September

Required documents

[For new applications or vehicle changes]

  1. Application Form for parking permit 【For Students including Research Associate】【Vehicle Change Notification (Commuting)】【For Faculty, Staff and Researcher 】
  2. A copy of your driver’s license
  3. A copy of automobile inspection certificate
  4. A copy of compulsory automobile liability insurance
  5. A copy of voluntary insurance
  6. (Students only) Parking Space Certificate or a contract related to the parking space at your residence

[For temporary vehicle changes (e.g., replacement vehicles)]

If you need to use a temporary replacement vehicle due to vehicle inspection, repairs, or other reasons, please submit a

 Vehicle Change Notification (Commuting) via   Vehicle Change Application Form by 16:00, two business days before the replacement vehicle’s start date.

Submission

Applications must be submitted by 4:00 PM, at least 2 business days before the desired start date.

Note: If the application is not submitted, your vehicle cannot be registered, and the gate will not open, so entry will not be allowed.

Designated parking area

Designated Parking area For Student and Staff (IPS)

Please park your car in the designated parking area. Parking in other area is strictly prohibited.

[Until the end of March]

From the submission of your application until the official Parking permit is issued, you may use the designated parking lot by using a Temporary Permit.
After submitting your application, please obtain a Temporary Permit at the IPS Office and use the designated parking lot.
(The official permit will be issued later in exchange for the Temporary Permit.)

[From April onward]

Only vehicles registered by 4:00 PM, at least 2business days before the start date, will be allowed to use the parking lot.
The gate will open based on the registered vehicle’s license plate, so no physical parking permit will be issued.

Cancellation

In order to cancel your contract, you must notify IPS Office one month in advance.

[Until the end of March]

*You have to return the parking permit(駐車許可証) to IPS Office by cancellation date.
*You cannot park in parking area after you return the permit.

[From April onward]

You may enter and exit the parking lot until the cancellation date.

Required documents

  1. Cancellation Form (For Staff and Students) H28.8 ※No refund for mid-term cancellations for a student parking lot
  2. Bank account Information for cancellation refund   ※Only faculty and staff with one-off payment contract
