Prof. Masuda provided an overview for a series of bipartite network projection methods with sparsity constraints that are based on frontier concepts in contemporary statistics. A broad set of participants with diverse backgrounds in social science enjoyed the talk and learned how they can apply the proposed methods to various data sets in their domain in case when they lack direct observation of relationships.
