Professor Masazumi Wakatabe appointed as Private Member of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy

Professor Masazumi Wakatabe of the Faculty of Political Science and Economics has been appointed as a private member of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy.

Professor Wakatabe specializes in the history of economic thought and central banking theory. He has been teaching at the University since April 1998, first as an assistant professor, then as an associate professor from April 2000, and as a full professor since April 2005.

He served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan from March 2018 to March 2023 and currently serves as Dean of the Graduate School of Economics at Waseda University.
