Social and Friend-Making Opportunities
The English-based Degree Program (EDP) at Waseda University’s School of Political Science and Economics has given me the opportunity to immerse myself in a truly international environment. There are infinite opportunities to interact with students from different countries. The significant thing is that students are open to different cultures and passionate about making friends with different cultural backgrounds.
One of the highlights of my time here has been the numerous social events, especially the “circle.” Joining circle has provided me with the platform for networking and building lifelong friendships. I was able to connect with students who share similar interests and create a supportive community together to explore and expand our passions together. It’s always very fulfilling to have like-minded friends around the world who are pursuing the same goal.
Varied Academic Curriculum
The academic curriculum of Waseda’s EDP program perfectly aligns with my diverse interests in economics and career aspirations. The curriculum covers various subjects in economics and political science, and the classes mainly focus on developing student’s critical thinking, research skills, and practical applications. The focus on developing these skills has been invaluable in preparing me to tackle complex challenges both academically and professionally.
What’s more, the EDP program even offer the option to take courses in either English or Japanese, which make it possible to improve language proficiency and learn more about Japanese community.
Connection with Leading Universities and Institutions
There is also a strong emphasis on global engagement. The program offers various opportunities for international internships, study-abroad exchanges, and participation in global conferences. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to exchange to University College of London for one year, and I believe that these global connections will create critical opportunities and experiences that will shape my academic journey and career path.
