[Publication] Prof. Kondo, with Prof. Detey, contributed to世界の英語発音 実地調査に見るその多様性 (“English pronunciation around the world”)

In January 2026, Prof. Kondo, with the collaboration of Prof. Detey and under the supervision of Prof. Yuji Kawaguchi (TUFS), co-edited the Japanese adaptation of the volume « La prononciation de l’anglais contemporain dans le monde : variation et structure » (The pronunciation of contemporary English in the world: variation and structure) edited by I. Brulard, P. Carr and J. Durand, entitled  世界の英語発音 実地調査に見るその多様性 (“English pronunciation around the world: diversity through field work ”) with Sanseido Press.

世界の英語の発音を実地調査を元に解説した画期的な研究書

英語は現在、世界中の多くの国で話されている。しかし、それぞれの国で話されている英語は同じではない。それどころか、英国内や合衆国内であっても、地域によってさまざまな点で大きな違いがあることが知られている。語彙や文法などはもちろん、発音にも大きな違いがある。本書はその「発音」に注目し、それぞれの特徴を論じたものである。
