In November 2024 (28-29), Professor Detey Co-organized the (I)PFC2024 International Conference in Paris (Maison de la Norvège, CIU) and co-presented a paper with Dr Fontan about the Functional Load of phonemic contrasts in French in the Lexique database and its application to French language teaching.
The (I)PFC conference is one of the leading conferences in French corpus-based (inter)phonology in the world, and it has been taking place every year since 2003 (except for 2020-2021). It is now co-organized by the current Board of Directors of the PFC research program, Helene N. Andreassen (University of Tromsø, Norway), Olivier Baude (CNRS/University of Paris-Ouest, France), Marie-Hélène Côté (Lausanne University, Switzerland), Sylvain Detey (Waseda University, Japan), Julien Eychenne (University of Sherbrooke, Canada), Elissa Pustka (Vienna University, Austria), Isabelle Racine (Geneva University, Switzerland).
