On March 27, 2024, Professor Detey was a Keynote Speaker at the Canopé Network (French Ministry of Education’s teachers training operator) for a Special Workshop about Plurilingualism, Diversity and Inclusive Schooling, organized by Clémentine Maillot. Professor Detey’s talk was entitled “Plurilinguisme en classe : une chance pour repenser l’apprentissage du français” (Plurilingualism in class: an opportunity to rethink what teaching L1 French in French primary and junior high schools means) and around 280 teachers attended the lecture. Many questions were asked and Professor Detey’s keynote talk was followed by a round table discussing some of the topics tackled by Professor Detey (e.g. language as a vector of a common culture through sociolinguistic codes).
