On November 21, 2023, Professor Detey Co-organized a Round Table in Paris at Maison Suger with the France-Japan Foundation of the EHESS around his book “Do we really know how to speak. The Linguistic contract as a social contract” with key figures in the field of linguistic policies and education, communication, and journalism.
The program of the event was the following one:
-Introductory remarks by Prof. Sébastien Lechevalier, Director of the EHESS France-Japan Foundation
-Open Lecture by Prof. Sylvain Detey “Do we really know how to speak?”
-Round Table moderated by Dorian Grelier (journalist at Le Figaro) with:

- Monique Atlan, journalist, and essayist
- Bernard Cerquiglini, linguist (U. of Paris), former Rector of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie
