On November 17, 2023, Professor Detey was an Invited Speaker at Fribourg University (Switzerland) for a 2-day Conference about Speech Corpora and French Language Education co-organized by Neuchatel University (Prof. Gilles Corminboeuf) and Fribourg University (Prof. Laure Anne Johnsen).
The title of Prof. Detey’s presentation was « Corpus oraux et didactique de la prononciation en FLE : ce que les premiers nous disent de la variation, ce que la seconde nous dit des normes, et ce que l’histoire des deux nous dit de qui nous sommes » (Speech corpora and L2 French pronunciation education : what the former tell us about variation, what the latter tells us about norms, and what the history of both tells us about who we are).
Other speakers included Prof. Isabelle Racine (Geneva University, Switzerland), Prof. Marie Skrovec (Orleans University, France), Prof. Virginie André (Lorraine University, France), and Dr. Carole Etienne (CNRS and ENS Lyon, France).
