On 18 September 2025, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), and the members of his delegation visited the Waseda International House of Literature.
Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, established by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, is an institution dedicated to the advancement and support of the Arabic language.It also organizes the Sheikh Zayed Book Award and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. On 8 April 2025, Haruki Murakami was awarded the Best Cultural Personality Prize at the 19th Sheikh Zayed Book Award, recognizing his impact on the Arab literary world.
During this visit, Dr. Ali bin Tamim and the members of his delegation engaged in discussions with Director Aso, Advisor Motoyuki Shibata, and other senior academic staff at the Waseda International House of Literature on translation activities between Japanese and Arabic, as well as literary exchange between Japan and the Arab world.
