Towards a new learning hub where knowledge is nurtured on the Science and Engineering Campus: the Learning Commons in the new Building 52
In preparation for the 150th anniversary of the University’s founding and the 125th anniversary of the establishment of its Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University is carrying out redevelopment work on its Nishi-Waseda (Science and Engineering) Campus.
We are pleased to announce the completion of the new Building 52 as the first phase of the redevelopment project. In particular, the Learning Commons on the 4th floor is a new collaborative space that supports diverse learning for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members.
While preserving the charm of the historic former Building 52, the new building offers an open environment that accommodates a wide range of learning styles, including group work, self-study, and meetings. In addition, the entire 4th floor is designed to encourage interaction and collaboration.
Please watch the video* to experience the Learning Commons, which is expected to become a new hub for science and engineering education and research.
