 On March 31, 2025, Dr. Peter Salovey, former president of Yale University, visited Waseda University along with Brendan Walsh, Senior Associate Provost for Global Strategy, Yale University; and Jieun Pyun, Director for Asia, Office of International Affairs, Yale University.

 Following the meeting with Waseda University representatives, the group from Yale toured the Waseda Campus, visiting sites such as the Waseda University History Museum ; the No.3 Building; the Waseda International House of Literature; the Haruko Takeyama Laboratory, Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, School of Advanced Science and Engineering; and the Shigeki Sugano Laboratory of Department of Modern Mechanical Engineering, School of Creative Science and Engineering.

 A luncheon was also held together with Yale University research scholar visiting Waseda University as part of the Asakawa Senior Fellowship Program (Asakawa Fellows), as well as Waseda University students who had been sent to Yale University through the Fox International Fellowship (Fox Fellows). Furthermore, Dr. Salovey, who is a social psychologist, met with fellow researchers Maya McEown from the Department of English Language and Literature, School of Education; and Eriko Sugimori of Department of Human Informatics and Cognitive Sciences, School of Human Sciences.

Luncheon with Asakawa Fellow and Fox Fellow

Waseda University and Yale University have a long history of academic exchange, and Waseda considers Yale one of its most important partner universities. Through a series of visits, the two universities have reflected on the history of the partnership and discussed ways to further strengthen the relationship in the future.
