In May last year, as part of the project to support stay home activities, the Cultural Affairs Division began distributing virtual background images of campus that can be used on online communication tools such as Zoom.

This time, it would like to present images of “Vol. 8: Spring at Waseda” (Vol. 1 – 7 are available in Japanese only).

On March 14, it was announced that cherry blossoms have started blooming in the Tokyo region, 12 days earlier than usual. It was also speculated that it would take about a week before they are fully bloomed.

To help get everyone in the mood for the yearly season, the Cultural Affairs Division would like to distribute some spring photos it took over the past few years. They include photos of cherry blossoms in full bloom at the Kanda River, the Higo Hosokawa Garden as well as around the Waseda Campus.

In times of the current Covid pandemic where restrictions in place make it difficult to enjoy hanami like before, the Cultural Affairs Division hopes these photos would lighten the hearts of our new and current students.
