On October 9, Waseda University conferred an honorary doctorate on Professor Michael Hoch from University of Bonn to honor his outstanding academic achievements in molecular biology.

Professor Hoch is the reactor of the University of Bonn, which Waseda University is working closely with in pursuit of promoting research and education. The ceremony and a commemorative lecture by Professor Hoch took place at the Okuma Auditorium, where many students, faculty staff, and related personnel witnessed and attended the event.

About the honorary doctorate

An honorary doctorate is conferred to those who have achieved significant distinction is academia, culture, and other areas contributing to humanity. Waseda University has awarded 138 honorary doctorates thus far.
