The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022

Waseda University ranked in the global top 100 for seven subjects and two broad subjects areas in the 2022 QS* World University Rankings by Subject released this year.

The rankings cover a total of 51 subjects, which are grouped into five broad subject areas.

The seven subjects which made it into the world’s top 100; namely Sports-related SubjectsPolitics & International Studies, Classics & Ancient History, Modern Languages, Geography, Linguistics, and Law, were all ranked within the top three domestically in Japan.

Our university placed first for Sports-related Subjects in Japan, making us the leading Japanese university in this field. Another area of highlight was our performance in Modern Languages, which made it into the top 50 globally, ranking 46th in the world.

Waseda University has been highly evaluated in our research capabilities and comprehensive world-class education through this year’s QS rankings. We aim to establish ourselves as a top international research university that provides research and education of the highest caliber.
