【Event Report】Waseda Campus Tour for International Students September 2024
Welcome to Waseda University!
【Waseda Campus Tour for International Students】organized by WAVOC was held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. With the help of student campus tour guides and members of the public relations department, we were able to provide approximately 70 participants to learn about Waseda. Participants also wore Waseda University’s official hat, the “KAKUBO,” and promoted Waseda culture together.
We also entered the Okuma Auditorium, which we don’t usually get to see.
We usually use the Okuma Auditorium to watch lectures and performances, but unless you’re a performer, it’s rare for you to stand on stage and see the entire audience, but this time we had this rare opportunity. The interior ceiling has an oval lighting window that represents space. It represents the solar system with the sun, moon, and nine stars, and is said to symbolize the “harmonization of the world” between the inside and outside of the auditorium.
The guide gave us detailed explanations about the history of Waseda University’s buildings and school life, which we will be using every day. Additionally, the participants come from a variety of backgrounds, and this campus tour provides an opportunity for international students to make friends and deepen their relationships.
