This time, we’re excited to welcome two leading Kyogen performers, Yuki Nomura and Shuichi Nakamura, for a special evening of watching, listening, and experiencing this timeless art form.

Mr. Yuki Nomura (野村 裕基氏)

Born in 1999. A Kyogen actor and the eldest son of Mansai Nomura. He trained under his grandfather, Mansaku Nomura, and his father. He graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Law and is a member of the Nohgaku Performers’ Association. He made his stage debut at the age of three in Utsubozaru, and has since appeared in numerous performances both in Japan and abroad. While preserving the core of traditional performing arts as a Kyogen actor, he also explores the evolving appeal of Kyogen through innovative projects. These include the stage production of Hamlet (directed by Mansai Nomura) and the Noh-Kyogen adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Mr. Shuichi Nakamura (中村 修一氏)

Born in 1989. A Kyogen actor who trained under Mansaku Nomura. He graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Law and is a member of the Nohgaku Performers’ Association. He began his training at the age of nine and has been performing on stage since childhood.  In addition to leading Kyogen workshops throughout Japan, he also instructs Kyogen clubs at Waseda University, Tokyo Woman’s Christian University, Kyoritsu Women’s University, and at the Matsuo Traditional Performing Arts School.
