Participate in an event

The ICC organizes a wide range of events and activities throughout the year. These include casual Cafe-style events, Talk Session lectures, music and dance performances, Sports Tournaments and Field Trips, to name a few. With such variety, you’re sure to find something that interests you!

Also, in accordance with the “Waseda University Promotion of Diversity Declaration” from the Waseda University Office for Promotion of Equality and Diversity, the ICC is committed to creating “an environment in which all members of the University, their dignity and their diverse values and lifestyles being respected, can make the most of their individuality and abilities, regardless of sex, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, creed, age, and so on.”

Many events don’t require pre-registration – just come right in! When pre-registration is required, just a few clicks (usually via MyWaseda) and you’re done! It’s simple.

Definition of eligible participants for ICC events

Eligible participants are decided for each event and listed on its webpage.

Definition of the categories are as follows.

  • Waseda University Student

Person currently enrolled with a Waseda University student ID number

  • Waseda University Faculty and Staff

Person holding a valid Waseda University ID
(Academic Staff, Research Associate, Administrative Staff, Visiting Scholar, Visiting Research Fellow, Research Intern, etc.)

  • General Public

Anyone not included in the above categories

1. Click on an event

2. Find the “Registration” section and click on the orange link (*best to log in to MyWaseda first)

3. (Within MyWaseda) Click “Submit” then complete and submit the form

Get involved as a Supporter

Language Supporter

Do you want to meet new people and teach your native language?
Then register to be an ICC Language Event Supporter and share your language with your fellow students!

This is a great chance to make new contacts on campus and connect with others who speak your language. Whether you help out every week, every month or even just once, is up to you!

Supporter recruiting notices will be posted on the Top Page under “Upcoming Events” and announced via “ICC News” email.

Event Supporter

We welcome your ideas for new and exciting cultural events. Introduce your country’s culture and traditions to the University community! You can also get involved as a supporter for events proposed by ICC Student Staff Leaders.

Planning an event will involve many tasks and responsibilities such as promotion, liaison work, negotiation with sponsors, coordination, in-event facilitation and more. How much responsibility you take on is up to you.

Become a Student Staff Leader (SSL)

Being a Student Staff Leader is an opportunity to work on campus while learning useful skills such as event planning, leadership, and business etiquette.

We recruit new SSLs a few times every year. We look forward to receiving your application, so watch the ICC website and sign up for ICC News emails for announcements!
