Japan Bridge / Rebuilding Hope: Listen to the voices from Syria!

ICC and WAVOC (The Hirayama Ikuo Volunteer Center, Waseda University) will hold a charity photo exhibition.

This event is held in cooperation with passionate individuals from Syrian, driven by a common interest in lending support to the Syrian cause. In collaboration with a diverse array of reputable NGOs and esteemed partners, our collective efforts have culminated in the launch of a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The campaign aims to extend a helping hand to the families who have been adversely affected by the catastrophic earthquake that struck northern Syria and southern Turkey on February 6th, 2023.

At this event, our overarching objective is to forge a robust network of support, encompassing a wide range of individuals and groups, in order to provide the much-needed assistance required by the families enduring the harrowing consequences of the region’s numerous crises.

Mohammed ALMASRI

ALMASRI is a PhD student at WASEDA University majoring in International Studies. He got his MA degree in Peace and Conflict from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Before coming to Japan, he used to work in education management and non-profits in both Syria and Lebanon.

Souzan HUSSEINI

A PhD student in international relations at Waseda University GSAPS. Souzan has a Master’s degree in the same field from Waseda University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Translation from the University of Aleppo in Syria. She is a leader at EmPATHy and a member of Japan Bridge and has experience with translation and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).
